Belitung Nursing Journal (BNJ) is published under the Open Access model under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution Non-Commercial License, which permits use, distribution, and reproduction in any medium as long as the original work is properly cited and is not used for commercial purposes. However, it should be noted that the printed articles or issues (in the form of a textbook) with a CC BY-NC license may be sold as long as the price is clearly set for cost recovery, not profit. Cost recovery refers to setting the price of an item such that it recovers or recoups the costs of a given expense. 

BNJ takes the initiative to provide a printed issue in the form of a book as one of the accreditation requirements in Indonesia's educational institutions. The printed issue is required from the original first publisher. Therefore, as of October 9, 2020, BNJ is open for a printed subscription for an annual subscription only. Online subscriptions and individual subscriptions are not available.
